The city of Orlando is a major city in central Florida and is the county seat of Orange County, Florida.  The city is best known for the many tourist attractions in the area, in particular the nearby Walt Disney World Resort, which is located in Lake Buena Vista about 20 miles south of Orlando city limits. Other notable area attractions include SeaWorld and Universal Orlando Resort. Water parks, dinner show attractions, hot-air balloon rides, an alligator farm, and an assortment of amusement parks keep up the momentum of non-stop fun.  For the more culturally inclined, art museums, the interactive Orlando Science Center, a history museum, gardens, parks and theater satisfy the appetite. Visit downtown Orlando for lively shopping, an African-American heritage museum and entertainment in the Church Street area.  The Orlando area is also known for its wide array of golf courses, with numerous courses available for any level of golfer.

Nearby Kissimmee is more widely known to visitors as being a near neighbor of Walt Disney World Resort.  Many downtown businesses occupy structures dating from the late 1800’s. Landscaping and renovations preserve the town’s old-time flavor.  Kissimmee does things in a slightly less showy way than Orlando, given its hometown sentiment and cow-town origins. Cattle auctions and rodeos, in fact, are still a way of life in the historic downtown area. Horseback riding, a petting farm and a folksy historic park are an indicator of the low-key temperament here, although themed family resorts, water parks and other activity centers are also present.
